An app download QR code takes people straight to your app's store page from a poster, menu, receipt or slide. Choosing the store automatically by device needs a redirect server, so this tool makes one code for the App Store and one for Google Play, plus an optional printable sheet with both side by side. Links are reduced to their short official form, each code is decoded again to check it, and everything happens in your browser.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste your App Store link or the numeric Apple ID.
  2. Paste your Google Play link or the package name, such as com.example.app.
  3. Add a heading for the sheet and choose separate codes, the sheet, or both.
  4. Download, then test both codes with an iPhone and an Android phone.

Formula

https://apps.apple.com/app/id<Apple ID> · https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=<package name>

The country and app-name parts of an App Store link are optional: apps.apple.com/app/id… opens the visitor's own storefront. An Android package name has at least two dot-separated parts made of letters, digits and underscores, each starting with a letter.

Example

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/x/id284882215 becomes https://apps.apple.com/app/id284882215, and the package name com.whatsapp becomes https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp. The default sheet puts both codes side by side under the heading "Get the app".

Frequently asked questions

Why not one code for both stores?

Sending iPhones to the App Store and Android phones to Google Play requires a web page that reads the device type and redirects. That page has to stay online for as long as the code is printed. Two direct codes keep working with no server at all.

Can I add the official store badges?

Apple and Google publish their badges under their own marketing guidelines, so the sheet uses plain "App Store" and "Google Play" captions. If you need the badges, download them from Apple and Google and place them in your own design.

Where do I find my Apple ID and package name?

The Apple ID is the number after "id" in your App Store link and is also shown in App Store Connect under App Information. The package name is the id= value in your Google Play link.
