URL to QR Code Generator
Turn any link into a QR code: the URL is checked and normalised, optional UTM tags are added, and you get a scan-checked PNG or SVG for print or screen.
Turn a link into a QR code for posters, menus, business cards, slides or packaging. The tool tidies the address first — it adds https:// when you leave it out, checks that it is a real web address, converts international domain names to the form phones understand, and can append UTM tags so your analytics show which poster brought the visit. Any link works, including Google Forms, Drive, Calendly or survey links.
How to use this tool
- Paste the web address (the https:// part is optional).
- Optionally fill in UTM source, medium and campaign to track visits in your analytics.
- Pick the error correction, size and colours.
- Check the Final URL and the scan check, then download the PNG or SVG.
Formula
Final URL = normalised link + ?utm_source=…&utm_medium=…&utm_campaign=… (only the fields you fill in)
The link is parsed with the browser's standard URL parser, so it is written in the same form every browser uses: a trailing slash for an empty path, lower-case domain, punycode for non-Latin domains, and spaces in tags encoded as +. Existing query parameters are kept; a UTM field you fill in replaces an existing value of the same name.
Example
Typing example.com gives the Final URL https://example.com/ — 20 bytes, which fits a version 2 QR code at level M. Adding UTM source newsletter to https://example.com gives https://example.com/?utm_source=newsletter.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change where the code points after printing it?
No. This is a static code: the address is stored in the pattern itself, so it cannot be edited or tracked. Editable "dynamic" codes point to a redirect server run by a service. Static codes never expire.
How do I see how many people scanned it?
Add UTM tags. Your analytics (for example Google Analytics) then reports visits from that source and campaign. The QR code itself counts nothing.
Why does my long link make such a dense code?
Every character adds data. Above about 300 characters the code needs many small modules and must be printed large. Use a shorter link if you can.
Does it work with Google Forms or Calendly links?
Yes — any http or https link works. Copy the share link and paste it in.
