The Developer Exchange (DevEx) program is how Roblox creators turn earned Robux into real money. Since 5 September 2025 the standard rate is $0.0038 per earned Robux. Robux earned before that date keep the older $0.0035 rate, and certain purchases by verified U.S. adults pay a higher $0.0054. Formula
Cash (USD) = earned Robux × DevEx rate
Robux needed = cash target ÷ rate, rounded up to a whole Robux. At the standard $0.0038, 1,000 Robux are worth $3.80. At the legacy $0.0035 they are worth $3.50.
Example
A creator with 30,000 earned Robux, exactly the DevEx minimum, gets 30,000 × $0.0038 = $114.00 at the standard rate. The same balance earned before September 2025 pays 30,000 × $0.0035 = $105.00. To reach a $1,000 payout at the standard rate you need 1,000 ÷ 0.0038 = 263,157.9, which rounds up to 263,158 Robux.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum to cash out with DevEx?
You need at least 30,000 earned Robux, which is $114 at the standard rate. You also need to be 13 or older, with a verified email address, a DevEx portal account and a W-9 or W-8 tax form on file.
Which Robux are paid at the old rate?
Earned Robux you held from before 5 September 2025 (10am PT) are paid at $0.0035. Roblox cashes those out first, before any Robux at the newer rates.
Who gets the $0.0054 rate?
It applies to certain earned Robux from developer products, passes, subscriptions and private servers bought by U.S. players who have verified they are 18 or older. Roblox reviews which of your Robux qualify.
Why is a Robux worth less when cashed out than when bought?
Roblox sets the price players pay for Robux and the DevEx rate separately, and the DevEx rate is much lower. Treat the DevEx rate as the real cash value of what you earn.
