Genshin Artifact Score Calculator (Crit Value & Roll Value)
Rate a Genshin Impact 5★ artifact: Crit Value, roll value for the stats your character uses, and how many upgrade rolls went into each substat.
Two artifacts with the same set and main stat can be worlds apart because of their substats. This calculator scores a 5★ artifact the two ways players compare them: Crit Value, the quick check for damage dealers, and roll value, which measures every substat against its maximum single roll so you can estimate how many initial and upgrade rolls landed on stats your character actually uses.
How to use this tool
- Pick each substat type and type its value from the artifact screen.
- Choose which stats your character wants — for example CRIT + ATK% for most damage dealers.
- Read the Crit Value and roll value; 100% roll value equals one perfect roll.
- Use the table to see how many rolls each substat probably received.
Formula
CV = 2 × CRIT Rate + CRIT DMG RV = Σ (substat value ÷ max single roll) × 100%
CRIT Rate counts double because one CRIT Rate roll (up to 3.89%) is worth about the same as one CRIT DMG roll (up to 7.77%). Each upgrade adds 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% of the max roll, so a substat's number of rolls lies between value ÷ max roll and value ÷ (0.7 × max roll).
Example
An artifact with CRIT Rate 7.0%, CRIT DMG 21.8%, ATK 9.9% and flat DEF 23 has CV 35.8 (2 × 7.0 + 21.8). For a CRIT + ATK% character its useful roll value is 7.0 ÷ 3.89 + 21.8 ÷ 7.77 + 9.9 ÷ 5.83 ≈ 6.30 rolls (630.3%); flat DEF adds almost one wasted roll, for 729.7% across all four lines.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good Crit Value?
There is no official scale. Every max CRIT roll adds about 7.8 CV, and a +20 artifact has only 8 or 9 rolls in total, so CV tells you roughly how many rolls went into crit: CV 39 is about five max crit rolls.
Why use roll value instead of CV?
CV ignores everything except crit. Supports, healers and characters scaling on HP, DEF or Elemental Mastery need other stats, and roll value lets you choose which ones count.
Does this work for 4★ artifacts?
No. 4★ artifacts roll smaller values, so dividing by 5★ max rolls would undervalue them. Use it for 5★ pieces only.
Should flat ATK, HP or DEF ever count?
Flat stats are usually the weakest rolls, so most players treat them as wasted. They are listed in the table but never count as useful in these presets.
