Genshin Impact Artifact Roll Value Calculator
Work out a 5-star Genshin Impact artifact’s roll value (RV), useful RV and crit value, and how many rolls went into each substat.
Roll value (RV) measures how much an artifact actually rolled into its substats, independent of which stats they are. Each substat is divided by the largest value a single roll of that stat can give, so 100% equals one perfect roll. This calculator gives total RV, useful RV for the stats your character wants, crit value and the number of rolls behind each line.
How to use this tool
- Pick each substat type and type the value exactly as the game shows it.
- Set unused lines to empty for artifacts with three substats.
- Choose which stats your character wants to get useful RV.
- Read the results and the breakdown table.
Formula
RV = Σ (substat value ÷ maximum single roll) × 100% · CV = 2 × CRIT Rate + CRIT DMG
Every 5★ substat roll is one of four tiers, roughly 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% of the maximum. The roll count for each line is found by testing which combinations of 1–6 tier values round to the displayed number (one decimal for percentages, whole numbers for flat stats).
Example
An artifact with CRIT Rate 10.5%, CRIT DMG 21.0%, ATK 5.8% and DEF 19 has RV = 10.5/3.89 + 21/7.77 + 5.8/5.83 + 19/23.15 = 721.8%. For a CRIT + ATK% character the useful RV is 639.7%, crit value is 2 × 10.5 + 21 = 42, and the values need 3 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 8 rolls, so the average roll quality is about 90%.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good roll value?
A +20 5★ artifact has 8 or 9 rolls. At the average roll quality of 85%, that is about 680–765% total RV. Useful RV matters more: the more of those rolls that landed on stats your character uses, the better the piece.
Why can one roll show more than 100%?
The game rounds what it displays. One maximum CRIT Rate roll is 3.89% but shows as 3.9%, which works out to 100.3%.
What is crit value (CV)?
CV doubles CRIT Rate and adds CRIT DMG. A CRIT Rate roll is half the size of a CRIT DMG roll (3.89% vs 7.77%), so doubling it puts both on the same scale. CV ignores every other stat.
Does this work for 4★ artifacts?
No. 4★ artifacts have smaller rolls, so RV and roll counts here would be wrong. The tool flags values that 5★ rolls cannot produce.
