France Salary After Tax Calculator 2026 (Brut → Net)

Convert a French gross salary to net pay for 2026: employee social contributions, taxable net (net imposable) and income tax withheld at source.

Chooses the metropolitan neutral grid: January–April or May–December. This is a full-month regular-pay estimate.
The amount is
Employee status
Only used with “My personal rate”. It is shown in your impots.gouv.fr space and on your payslip.

Estimate core 2026 statutory deductions for a French tax-resident private-sector employee with stable regular pay and full monthly ceilings. The figures exclude complementary health and provident plans, including employer contributions and their CSG and taxable-net effects. They are therefore a baseline before employer-plan adjustments, rather than a complete payslip. Select the payment date to apply the correct metropolitan withholding grid.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter a 2026 payment date and gross monthly salary, or yearly salary paid evenly over twelve months.
  2. Choose cadre or non-cadre status; cadre adds APEC contributions.
  3. Choose the metropolitan neutral rate, your notified personal rate, or no income-tax deduction.
  4. Read monthly net and the contribution breakdown. Annualized net repeats this month twelve times.

Formula

Core net = gross − included employee contributions − withholding rate × core taxable net

The 2026 monthly social-security ceiling is €4,005. Pension tranche 2 ends at eight ceilings (€32,040); APEC and the 1.75% CSG/CRDS base reduction stop at four (€16,020). CET applies to tranches 1 and 2 when pay exceeds one ceiling. CSG totals 9.2%, including 6.8% deductible, and CRDS is 0.5%. Each contribution is rounded to cents. The neutral grid changes on 1 May 2026; it taxes the entire taxable net at the selected rate, not progressively by slices.

Example

For €3,000 monthly gross, non-cadre, paid after 1 May, included contributions total €625.21. Core net before tax is €2,374.79 and taxable net €2,460.27. The neutral rate is 5.3%, giving €130.39 withholding and €2,244.40 after tax before employer-plan adjustments.

Frequently asked questions

Why does taxable net exceed cash net?

Nondeductible CSG and CRDS reduce cash but remain taxable. A real payslip may also add taxable employer health contributions and other adjustments excluded from this baseline.

What situations need another calculation?

Overseas residence, nonresident social charges, Alsace-Moselle, apprentices, overtime relief, short contracts, part months, variable pay and nonstandard pension agreements require additional rules. Employer-plan contributions also change both net pay and tax bases.

Is annualized net the final 2026 result?

No. It repeats one month’s salary, social charges and withholding rate. Actual withholding can change during the year, and final household income tax is reconciled separately.
