SVG to PNG Converter

Convert SVG files or pasted SVG code to sharp PNG, JPG or WebP at any size or scale (1×, 2×, 4×), with a transparent or coloured background.

Used when Output size is “Custom scale”.
Used when Output size is “Exact width”; the height follows the aspect ratio.

SVG logos and icons are vectors, but social networks, Office documents, email signatures and app stores usually want a PNG. This converter redraws the SVG at the exact pixel size you choose, so edges stay crisp at 2× or 4× instead of being blown up from a small bitmap. Load a file or paste the code; everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to use this tool

  1. Drop one or more .svg files, or paste SVG markup into the text box.
  2. Choose the output size: 1×, 2×, 4×, a custom scale, or an exact width in pixels.
  3. Pick PNG, JPG or WebP and a transparent, white, black or custom background.
  4. Press Convert and download the image (several files come as a ZIP).

Formula

Output width = SVG width × scale (or the exact width you enter); output height = output width × SVG height ÷ SVG width.

The SVG size comes from its width and height attributes — cm, mm, in, pt and pc are converted at the CSS rate of 96 px per inch — or from the viewBox when they are missing.

Example

An icon with viewBox="0 0 24 24" and no width or height counts as 24 × 24 px. At 4× it becomes a 96 × 96 px PNG; with an exact width of 512 it becomes 512 × 512 px.

What may not render

Inside an image, browsers do not load anything referenced by URL — external pictures, web fonts or @import stylesheets — and scripts and animations do not run. Embedded data: URIs work. If text appears in a fallback font, convert it to outlines in your editor. Browsers cap canvas size at about 16,384 px per side, and iPhones allow roughly 16.7 million pixels in total.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep a transparent background?

Choose PNG or WebP with the Transparent background. JPG always needs a solid colour, so white is used if you pick transparent.

Why does a 4× PNG look sharper than enlarging a 1× PNG?

The vector shapes are drawn directly at 4× resolution, so curves and text get real detail instead of stretched pixels.

Why did my pasted code fail?

The markup must be well-formed XML with a single <svg> root. A missing xmlns attribute is added automatically, but unclosed tags cannot be fixed.

Is my SVG uploaded?

No. It is parsed and rendered by your own browser.
