Zakat on Business Calculator

Calculate conditional zakat from eligible business working capital, approved deductions, your selected nisab and a confirmed assessment convention.

Choose the standard applicable to your assets and authority.
Used only for the entered-threshold option; sample value is not current market data.
Used only for a metal option. Supply the applicable valuation price; no live quotation is fetched.
Used only for custom mode. Confirm any solar-year or other accounting-period rate.

Estimate business zakat from eligible working capital that you have already classified. Enter the entire assessed business pool, including cash, sale inventory and collectible receivables, then deduct liabilities allowed by your chosen rules. Operating fixed assets and revenue are not automatically part of this base.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter all eligible values in one currency, without counting an asset twice.
  2. Select a monetary nisab or a supported metal-weight standard and enter its applicable price per gram.
  3. State whether the required haul and ownership conditions are confirmed.
  4. Choose 2.5% for a lunar-year assessment, or enter a rate approved for your accounting convention.

Formula

Net base = max(0, eligible assets − approved deductible liabilities). If net base ≥ nisab, conditional zakat = net base × rate / 100; otherwise it is zero.

The full qualifying base is assessed, not merely the amount above nisab. A metal-derived threshold is grams × your entered price. Prices and defaults are examples; no current quotation or exchange rate is supplied.

Example

A business with eligible current assets of 2,000,000,000 and approved current liabilities of 500,000,000 has a net base of 1,500,000,000. If that pool meets its applicable nisab and haul, a 2.5% rate gives 37,500,000. This is the BAZNAS DIY trading-business example.

Frequently asked questions

Which nisab should I select?

Follow the authority and asset rules relevant to you. Gold weights of 85 g, 86 g and 87.48 g, and silver weights of 595 g and 612.36 g, represent different published conventions; they are not interchangeable defaults.

Does a positive result mean zakat is now due?

Only if all applicable conditions are met. Unconfirmed or incomplete haul leaves the displayed amount conditional. This worksheet does not reconstruct ownership or balance history.

Is this based on annual profit?

It uses the entered working-capital base. Profit-based methods and shareholder-level allocation require separate rules and are outside this calculation.
