Shipping Cost Calculator — Parcel Groups

Total different parcel groups using your entered per-parcel quotes, shipment-level fees, tax and credits, with an itemized shipping budget.

Hypothetical quotes. Enter one row for each group sharing the same complete per-parcel price.

Build an itemized shipping budget for a collection of parcels with different quoted prices. Group parcels only when they share the same complete price, then add shipment-level amounts that have not already been included. This worksheet combines your quotes; it does not retrieve a carrier tariff or predict a price from an address.

How to use this tool

  1. Get applicable quotes for the actual parcels, route, service and shipping date.
  2. Enter Parcel group | Count | Quoted cost per parcel, using a separate row for each price.
  3. Add any remaining shipment-level fees and a separately determined tax amount.
  4. Subtract a confirmed credit and review the total, parcel count and average cost.

Formula

Total = sum(parcel count × quoted cost per parcel) + shipment-level fees + entered tax − confirmed credit

Counts must be positive whole numbers. A credit cannot exceed the entered charges. Average cost divides the final total by the total parcel count; it is not the quoted price of every individual parcel. Up to 100 nonblank groups are accepted, all in one currency.

Example

Three small boxes quoted at 8 each cost 24; two large boxes quoted at 15 each cost 30. The parcel subtotal is 54. Adding 5 in other shipment fees and 2 in tax, then applying a 3 credit, gives 58 for five parcels, or 11.60 per parcel on average.

Frequently asked questions

Does this compare live carrier prices?

No. Obtain the applicable quotes first. Origin, destination, service, dimensions, weight, account terms and shipping date can change a quote. The defaults are hypothetical examples.

Where do fuel, insurance and remote-area charges go?

Include a per-parcel charge in that group's quoted price, or put a shipment-level charge in the additional-fees field. Do not enter the same charge twice. Determine tax separately; no tax rate is assumed.

Why might my final invoice differ?

Reweighing, remeasurement, address changes, service adjustments or omitted charges can change actual billing. This is a total of supplied amounts. Decimal amounts are calculated before the displayed currency rounding.
