Settlement Distribution Calculator — Supplied Shares

Subtract entered settlement deductions and allocate the remaining pool by supplied relative shares, with currency rounding that preserves the total.

Weights need not total 100. For three equal shares use 1, 1 and 1. Enter only an authorized allocation, not disputed entitlements.

Allocate a settlement pool using deductions and recipient shares that have already been determined. Enter agreed fees, expense reimbursements, confirmed third-party payments and other withholding, then supply relative shares for the remaining funds. The table reconciles rounded distributions to the rounded pool without deciding anyone’s legal entitlement.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter gross funds and each distinct agreed deduction without double counting.
  2. List recipients and their authorized relative shares.
  3. Select the currency and review the unrounded pool and rounding adjustment.
  4. Check every distribution against the agreement and any required approval before using it.

Formula

Pool = gross − fees − expenses − third-party payments − other withholding; unrounded allocation = pool × recipient weight / total weight

Weights need not total 100. Equal positive weights produce equal proportions. The pool is rounded to two decimals, or whole won for KRW; leftover rounding units go to the largest fractional remainders. Ties follow input order. The allocation always totals the rounded pool.

Example

From 100,000, subtract 30,000 fees, 5,000 expenses and 10,000 confirmed third-party payments. The pool is 55,000. Relative weights 60 and 40 allocate 33,000 and 22,000. For one currency unit split three ways, the first equal-weight row receives 0.34 and the other two 0.33 in a two-decimal currency.

Frequently asked questions

Does this determine lien priority or tax?

No. Supply the amounts determined for the actual matter. Disputed interests, statutory priorities, taxes, approvals and protected funds require their own resolution; arithmetic does not settle them.

Why can equal shares differ by one cent?

A rounded pool may not divide evenly. The documented remainder method assigns indivisible currency units while preserving the total. Input order breaks exact ties; choose another agreed allocation if that convention is unsuitable.

Can deductions exceed the available funds?

The tool rejects that scenario rather than allocating a negative pool. Reconcile the amounts and payment obligations before entering a distribution plan.
