Fortnite Build Cost Calculator

Count the wood, brick or metal a Fortnite build needs (10 per wall, floor, ramp or cone), how many builds your materials cover, and what is left.

For example 10 for ten ramp-rush steps

In Fortnite's build modes every wall, floor, ramp and cone costs 10 materials, whether you build in wood, brick or metal. The maths is simple but easy to get wrong in the middle of a fight: a 1×1 box is 60, and a ten-step ramp rush is 200. Enter the pieces in your build and how many times you will make it to see the total, how many builds your materials cover and what will be left.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter how many walls, floors, ramps and cones the build uses.
  2. Enter how many times you will build it, for example 10 ramp steps.
  3. Pick the material and enter how much of it you have.
  4. Read the total and the table of common builds.

Formula

Materials = (walls + floors + ramps + cones) × 10 × number of builds

Builds you can afford = materials you have ÷ cost of one build, rounded down. Edits such as windows, doors and half walls cost nothing extra.

Example

A 1×1 box with 4 walls, a floor and a cone is 6 pieces, so it costs 6 × 10 = 60 materials. With 500 wood you can build 8 of them (480 wood) and keep 20. A ramp rush of 10 steps, each a ramp plus a wall in front, costs 10 × 20 = 200.

Frequently asked questions

Do different materials cost different amounts?

No. Each piece costs 10 of whichever material you use. The difference is in strength and speed: wood goes up fastest but is the weakest, brick sits in between, and metal is the strongest but takes the longest to reach full health.

Does editing cost materials?

No. Editing a piece into a window, door, arch or half wall is free, and so is resetting the edit.

What counts as a cone?

The cone is the roof piece, also called a pyramid. Like every other piece it costs 10 materials.

Does this apply to Zero Build?

No. Zero Build playlists turn building off, so this calculator is for modes where you can build.
